The Cherokee County Development Board is operated under the auspices of a Board of Directors. The Board has 9 members one of which is Ex-Officio appointed from the legislative delegation. Board members serve 4 year terms. Members are nominated by the County Council Members and voted on by the full membership of the County Council.

The Cherokee County Development Board offices are located in the Spartanburg Community College Cherokee Business Training Center building just off I-85 near Gaffney. The Development Board meets every 4th Monday of the month at 12 p.m. Meetings are open to the public and advertised through local media outlets.
