First Solar Selects Cherokee County for $330m Expansion

First Solar, the largest US based solar panel manufacturer has selected Cherokee County for a new assembly plant. Solar panes will come in to be assembled into full panels then distrusted in partnership with DHL. They will become the anchor tenant at Cherokee Commerce Center 85 at exit 90 where they will expand the speculative 555ksqft building to 1.2msqft and build an additional 500ksqft building for their distribution facility.
